How to: Make Your Wedding Look Expensive Without Spending a Fortune

  • 3 min read

Weddings can get expensive REAL quick. If you've started laying out the details of your wedding day, you might already know those numbers add up really fast!

Don't let this scare you though – you can still have your dream day even if your budget might tell you otherwise. Let's jump into a few ways that you can make your wedding look expensive and beautiful without spending a fortune!

Do some research

One of the easiest ways to save money on your wedding decor is by doing your research. Hit up those sales or borrow decor items from family or friends.

Don't forget to check out antique shops near you. You never know what you can find (from bud vases to vintage pieces) that add gorgeous flair to your wedding day.

When searching for linens or table runners look around on multiple sites to ensure you're getting the best deal. Etsy has a lot of really unique options when it comes to wedding decor!

Ask for a service gift from a family member or friend

Do you have a close friend or family member who wouldn't mind providing a service on your wedding day as your wedding gift? Many close friends or family members love helping out and would rather give a gift of service to your wedding day.

Maybe you have a friend who is a calligrapher and wouldn't mind gifting place card calligraphy to you on your wedding day. If a friend or family member offers to gift a service, definitely consider accepting!

Think about what you can already utilize

Do you already have pieces in your home that you can incorporate into your wedding? If so, don't be afraid to use them!

You might already own a letter board to display your wedding hashtag, or a set of glasses for your bridal party to drink from. If you have to shop around for items you don't already have, use Etsy and Amazon to find unique pieces (like this runner gauze!)

Use your skill and talent

Are you the artistic type? If you are, don't be afraid to jump in there and do a few things yourself.

Even if you don't consider yourself to be artistic, there are many different DIY options for your wedding day that don't necessarily look DIY. Something as simple as assembling your wedding invitations, printing your own place cards from a template, or styling your own decor can save you a ton of money!

Incorporate artificial floral

Want to know something CRAZY? All the floral on this altar is completely artificial.

That's right! NONE of it was real.

The neat thing about artificial floral is it saves you a ton of money, but it doesn't look fake. Floral is one of the most expensive things in your wedding, so discuss artificial floral options with your wedding florist.

Even though these are just a few tips, there are many ways you can save money on your wedding day while still making your wedding look as gorgeous as ever. Don't let your budget discourage you into settling for second best – have your dream day without spending a fortune!
