Farewell Wedding Stress: Tips From Real Brides For Real Brides

From picking out the details, to dress shopping, asking your right-hand ladies, and STILL making time for your fiancé...WHEW! Wedding stress is very real and today we're addressing ways you can kick back and take some much-needed R&R.

We polled our Instagram audience of brides-to-be last week, asking what tips they had or what is currently helping them take some much needed "me time," in the middle of a busy season of planning. Get ready for all these trending tips to de-stress and say bye-bye to all that wedding stress!

1. Take a Nap

Sounds simple right? Taking a much-needed nap can do a girl a lot of good!

When we are stressed, our sleep tends to suffer the most. When we are rested, that allows for clear thinking and decision making.

Next time you feel irritable or anxious about what's left to get done (or what you haven't even started on), spend some time napping or relaxing alone in your bedroom. 

2. Soak Your Worries Away

Not a bath person? Maybe now is the time to become one!

We underestimate the power of a nice, hot bath right before bedtime. When we are stressed it causes the muscles in our body to contract (ouch!), while an evening soak in hot water can release those symptoms!

3. Do a Digital Detox

Believe it or not – stepping away from social media and your phone can help relieve a lot of stress and anxiety. Take an hour, half a day, or even a whole day where you decide to put your phone down.

Spend some time doing what you love most without your phone in-hand. Trust us, you'll thank yourself later!

4. Take it Easy on the Caffeine

Like they say – everything in moderation. The same is true for your caffeine intake during this busy planning season.

The temptation to grab a cup-of-joe every hour is so easy, but too much caffeine can cause unneeded stress and anxiety – not to mention throwing off your sleep schedule!

Try to limit yourself to 1-2 cups a day, and when you feel tired – trust your body and get some sleep!

5. Remember to Care for Your Mind and Body

In the middle of planning the biggest day of your life, taking care of yourself can fall on the back burner (we've been there)! Don't forget to take care of you!

Make time weekly to maintain your workout schedule. Try doing yoga or meditation to help clear your mind and re-focus on what's most important.
