Did you know that most brides report coming in over budget by an average of $10 - $15k?! That's A LOT to be going over budget. Want to avoid this happening to you? Well then today's post is for you - we're here to share with you three ways to save on your wedding so you can stick to that budget! Let's get to saving!
Your venue will likely be your most expensive wedding expense. As you know, a lot of people pick Saturday weddings, but if you choose any other day of the week, you can save yourself a significant amount of money! The trade off to having a wedding on any day other than Saturday is it may make it harder for guests to get time off from work. However, our opinion is if money is stressing you out then opt for a non-Saturday wedding and know that the people who care about you the most will make it work for their schedules!
Food can add up real quick and will likely be your second biggest expense. Since your food cost is directly driven by your guest count, the bigger your wedding the more expensive the food bill will be. While one way to cut food costs is to cut your guest count down, we know this is not always realistic. Instead, always ask your caterer what their least expensive food options are, most of the time it's a buffet style food option, but it's always a good idea to ask!
What else adds up real quick?! You guessed it, booze! Again because this is directly driven by your guest count, it can be hard to cut this cost. However, one of the best ways to save a lot of money on alcohol is by bringing your own. BYOB baby! If your venue allows you to bring your own alcohol, you can save A LOT of money!
Figuring out exactly how much alcohol you need and what mix of alcohol you need can get tricky. Lucky for you we have our build your own bar tool in within our Wedding Planning Formula membership! The tool allows you to plug in your guest count and the length of your reception and tells you EXACTLY how much beer, wine, and hard liquor to buy!
